Yogi von Wildau is a sweet, gentle 3-4 year old shepherd mix on the smaller side.  While initially very shy at the rescue, Yogi has transformed into the happiest and most loving pup since entering a foster home!  Yogi absolutely loves the companionship of both his humans and of other dogs, and especially adores young children.  He meets other dogs respectfully, allowing them their “due-diligence” before engaging them in mild play.  Some of his favorite activities are chasing balls and tug-of-war, but he’s just as happy to lie at your side as you watch a good movie. 
True to his name, Yogi is definitely “smarter than the average bear!”… he is housebroken, quickly learned to use a dog door, and walks perfectly by your side on a leash!  His impressive house manners make him the perfect foster house guest….Yogi cleans his plate, eagerly greets you when you return home, and sleeps quietly all night in a pen.  He is so sweet around young kids, gently taking treats from their hands and allowing for ample petting and hugging.  While he has a little ‘hitch in his step’ right now while he’s recovering from a recent hip surgery, this doesn’t stop him from chasing the ball, exploring the yard, or enjoying a good belly rub.  Bottom line:  Yogi is the perfect family dog!
